Environmental Impact Assessments

An integral part of many new industrial and commercial development projects is the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). National and state regulations require that EIAs be performed prior to any development project that may affect the environment. Upon completion of the EIA, an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) will be drafted. The EIS describes the potential impacts on the environment as a result of the proposed action, the impacts of alternatives to the proposed action, and plans to mitigate (lessen) the impacts.

Environmental Compliance Audits

Industries must comply with numerous environmental regulations – including legislation pertaining to air emissions, water use, hazardous materials, waste, wastewater, storm water, and emergency planning – and fines can be levied against companies for non-compliance. However, Iowa and Illinois environmental laws provide limited enforcement shielding for audit activities. An environmental audit can be performed to assess and improve facility compliance programs and management systems.
